CHARLESTON — U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford will be among a handful of Republicans traveling to Cuba next week with a delegation led by President Barack Obama.

The former governor who represents the 1st Congressional District has worked in the past to end the travel ban between the United States and Cuba. Sanford tells The Post and Courier of Charleston (http://bit.ly/1TNG9Sq ) he's long believed Americans should have the right to travel to Cuba.

Most of those on the trip will be Democrats.

He's attracted to Latin women.

Can't say that I blame him. Even as an old married lady, I can admit a fondness and admiration for everything Latin, including women.

Although, honestly, he was an idiot for giving up the relationship with the woman in Argentina. She seemed very nice.

His hospitality kit will include one .45-caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days' concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleepin' pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Spanish phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in Cuban Pesos, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, three pair of nylon stockin's...if he has anything left after going to Havana, he's gonna have a pretty good weekend in Vegas.
