Possible security threat at Denver International Airport: Part of main terminal evacuated
Source: Local ABC affiliate - The Denver Channel
DENVER - Denver police are evacuating part of the main terminal at Denver International Airport to investigate a possible security threat. Now the TSA is sending extra security to other major airports.
An alert sent to FAA and TSA officials said a K-9 detected something suspicious in a package. That package is currently at a ticket counter at curbside check-in on the west side of the main terminal, according to ABC News.
All traffic is being routed to the east side of the terminal.
Airport officials said officers are evacuating the west side of the terminal, levels 5 and 6, between doors 600 and 610.

DENVER - A source confirms to 9NEWS that a positive hit by a bomb-sniffing dog prompted authorities to evacuate a section of the main terminal of Denver International Airport to investigate a suspicious package Tuesday afternoon.
The evacuation area includes the west side of the main terminal on levels five and six from doors 600 to 610, according to a tweet from DIA. This has hindered the ability of some passengers to check into their flights, as well as pick up their bags from baggage claim.
Flights are continuing, DIA tweeted, but delays are possible. Travelers should check their flight status online.
