Candice Miller seeks job overseeing Macomb water issues

Source: Detroit Free Press

WASHINGTON — After a 14-year career as a member of Congress, U.S. Rep. Candice Miller said Wednesday the next chapter in her political life will be a run this year for Macomb County public works commissioner.

Miller, a Harrison Township Republican who was formerly a two-term Michigan secretary of state, had been rumored as a potential candidate for governor in 2018.

But Miller, 61, who first won election to Congress in 2002 and announced last year that this term would be her last, also has left no questions about her strong feelings about her previous time in local government. Before becoming secretary of state, she was Macomb County's treasurer and, before that, spent 12 years as Harrison Township supervisor.

"I said I wasn't going to be running for Congress again because I'm a Michigan girl and it was time for me to come home," Miller said in announcing her decision. "But, I never said I was going to retire. Hey, I am way too young to retire. But, I do think with all the different experiences I've been so fortunate to have, that I can put them to good use in a way that can be impactful for our community."

she is nothing but a rubber stamp to whatever the Governor wants. Now she sees a bandwagon that she wants to jump on to further her own career. Where was she before all this Flint mess?

The last thing we need is to have these complicit Repukes find another cushy job. She got her job through gerrymandering of our district.
