Two days after bomb attacks at Brussels airport and on a packed metro killed 31 people and injured hundreds, a security guard who worked at a Belgian nuclear plant was murdered and his pass was stolen, Belgian media reported on Saturday.
The French language Derniere Heure (DH) newspaper reported the security guard's badge was de-activated as soon as it was discovered he had been shot dead in the Charleroi region of Belgium and his badge stolen.

The authorities seem to have known that a plan to target nuclear facilities was at least in the planning stages, but one unexplained thing is that a significant number of personnnel were sent home from a Belgian nuclear plant last Tuesday.
There is something not being told.
Note: I am adding this link to what happened last Tuesday, on the day of the attacks:

A spokesman for Engie - which owns and operates seven reactors in Belgium through its Electrabel unit - told Reuters that key staff remained on site to continue operating the facilities, however.
It seems to me that authorities must believe there is an insider threat.
Note: adding link to Bananas' thread, which says that work passes of multiple nuclear workers have been revoked:

Never, ever, thought I'd see something like this.

I'm sure glad we don't have the Keystone Cop, premier of Belgium responsible for our safety. Maybe he'll do the smart thing and ask us for our help.

Are the authorities in Belgium incompetent or what's going on?

I heard something like 12 just in Brussels not including the federal level LE.
Also a strong political desire not to be seen as oppressive against their minority communities.

As far as the other problem, the Belgium people will have to decide how to address that.
