Teen faces murder counts in ‘Purge’ crime spree

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis teenager is accused of fatally shooting three men at random during a four-day crime spree in mid-May, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday.
Jonathan Cruz, 19, is facing three murder charges in connection with the shooting deaths of Billy Boyd and Jay Higginbotham on May 12, and Jose Ruiz on May 15.
Cruz, court documents said, told a witness that he had been "purging," a reference to the 2013 horror film, The Purge, in which the U.S. government designates a 12-hour period once a year where all crimes, including rape and murder, are legal.
The teen's victims "appeared to be 100% random," said Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry during a press conference Wednesday.

Spree killings are happening way too often now. It's a very American problem.

A 19 year old adult is referred to as a "young teenager" or "boy" or "child" when he does the murdering, especially if he is an all-American white male. He's probably suffering from mental illness and just needs us to be more sympathetic and understanding. 
But the important thing is to not be distracted by home grown psychopaths like this guy. ISIS is coming to kill us any day now. Always be afraid of foreign terrorists.
