Results slow in Puerto Rico as voters face long lines

Source: The Hill

Voters in Puerto Rico reportedly faced lines of more than two hours to vote Sunday in the Democratic primary.

According to an MSNBC reporter, some voters who were waiting in line in San Juan decided to leave rather than face the long lines.

UPDATE: The wait to vote in Puerto Rico's presidential primary is more than 2.5 hrs some places -- ppl giving up in San Juan.

The commonwealth initially had 1,510 polling locations. But it announced last month that the number of polling locations would be cut to 455 for the Sunday primary.

Robert Prats, president of the Democratic Party on the island, said the 455 locations are four times more than the number of polling locations open in the Republican primary in March.

5. Explanation.

Primary elections are run by state funding.

Caucuses run by party funding.

Puerto Rico is in financial crisis, and significantly cut primary funding by the financially-strapped state.

It is not DNC, DWS or Clinton machine.

You'll of course, support your allegation with objective evidence, yes? Or is this merely another instance where you stand in the corner, hold your breath and stomp your feet?

(I'm taking 2-4 against, but I love the sucker bet)

Results slow in Puerto Rico as voters face long lines
The commonwealth initially had 1,510 polling locations. But it announced last month that the number of polling locations would be cut to 455 for the Sunday primary.
Robert Prats, president of the Democratic Party on the island, said the 455 locations are four times more than the number of polling locations open in the Republican primary in March.

Supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders were up in arms over the cuts, with supporters tweeting about the change. A "Sanders for President" reddit page also called the reduction "about as bad as Arizona" and dozens of Sanders supporters voiced concerns about the cuts on the page.

But the local party told MSNBC that the Sanders campaign had requested fewer stations.

11. "The opposite is true. In emails with the party, Sanders staff asked the party to maintain the 1500"

SAN DIEGO – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign issued the following statement Sunday on long lines at polling places in Puerto Rico’s Democratic Party presidential primary election:

“Some Puerto Rico Democratic officials are claiming that the Sanders campaign requested fewer polling places in today’s primary contest. That’s completely false. The opposite is true. In emails with the party, Sanders’ staff asked the party to maintain the 1,500 plus presidential primary locations promised by the Puerto Rico Democratic party in testimony before the DNC in April, when the party was asking to have its caucus changed to a primary. They cannot blame their shoddy running of the primary on our campaign. This is just one example of irregularities going on in Puerto Rico voting today. We are the campaign that has been fighting to increase voter participation.”

14. You'd be wrong to do that. Clinton had the motive to suppress election day voters, not Sanders.

Motive is everything. And Clinton is a liar, along with everyone who associates themselves with her, too closely.
