Trump: Comments about judge 'misconstrued'
Source: CNN
Donald Trump sought Tuesday to quell the intensifying criticism over his comments about the impartiality of a federal judge, saying his remarks had been "misconstrued."
In a lengthy statement, Trump tried to explain his comments about federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing a lawsuit on Trump University. Trump, who had accused Curiel of bias because of his Mexican heritage, said in his statement that he does not believe "one's heritage makes them incapable of being impartial."
"Based on the rulings that I have received in the Trump University civil case, I feel justified in questioning whether I am receiving a fair trial," Trump said.

(13,577 posts)This is intended to "quell criticism?" I guess it's standard patter for all crooks. No trial is "fair" to them unless they skate. But this is no different than his last tirade except he left out "because he's Mexican."

(12,882 posts)How often do other defendants get to make such a statement: "I feel justified in questioning whether I am receiving a fair trial."
This doltish rube has had his pants pulled down and it bothers the hell out of him that folks can see why HE DOES have "small hands"!

(6,241 posts)la raza is an open borders, Mexican supremeist organization. This judge is a member of La Raza.
Trump is a known closed borders, "Mexico is sending their rapists up here" guy.
Could any of US give Trump a fair verdict? I'd have to recuse myself if I were the judge. I'd want to give him capital punishment for anything and everything.
Picture a judge, who is a member of a Men's Rights group, presiding over a rape trial. Could he put aside his "they're always asking for it" feelings? Or would we get another 6 month probation sentences?

(53,410 posts)Toddlers have that concept of fairness. In Kindergarden they begin to learn about how some things are accountable and fairness is about being held accountable and accepting that is a mark of growing up.
Not so for Donald Trump. He's still in pre-school cognitive abilities.

(23,059 posts)You only said this after 2 repug senators said they wouldn't support you since you are a racist pig. OK, they didn't say that, but that's implied strongly.

(26,213 posts)Trump said and meant it exactly in a racist manner and if he even hesitated for a moment I will bet you dollars to donuts that he was arrogant enough to think he could just use the tactic of bluster and bullshit that he has used against his Republican opponents to escape the consequences.
