Paris Police Officer Stabbed To Death; ISIS Reportedly Claims Responsibility

Source: Huffington Post

A judicial source said the anti-terrorism unit of the prosecutor’s office had been given responsibility for the investigation because of comments made during lengthy exchanges between the assailant and negotiators. The source gave no further details.

“Source to Amaq agency: Islamic State fighter kills deputy chief of the police station in the city of Les Mureaux and his wife,” Amaq said on its news website.

It cannot possibly be terrorism.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic, because it seems to me that lots of posters will not acknowledge that what occurred in Orlando is Islamist terrorism.

Blowing up Planned Parenthood offices is terrorism. Shooting up a grade school, theater, shopping mall, night clubs....all terrorism.

You want to attach it to ISIS, that's fine. They'd like the credit for every evil act that gets committed around the world. In the end, does it really make a damned bit of difference? Lone wolf, small sleeper cell....it goes on and on. France has it's hands full. The history of Europe has been one of being torn between Islam and Christianity, and they are both insane when you involve fundamentalists. The Inquisition was no picnic.

As far as I'm concerned, these are all nothing more than evil minds that found some coat hook to hang their allegiance to before they murder and destroy lives.

Let the FBI trace this sick bastard's past and find out what is what. There is no proof he was connected to ISIS or any other extremist group yet at this time, except fox and the reich wing blogosphere. Maybe it will prove so. Maybe it will just be another sick bastard filled with hate who has a closet full of military assault weapons waiting for a war.

let's say Robert Dear had called 911 and said he did it for Tony Perkins and Rush Limbaugh. Would people be saying 'maybe he's lying, maybe they have nothing to do with it' like they're saying here?

No. They would not.

This CONSTANT need to find any way possible to excuse Islamist violence. The Orlando shooter was likely not fired from his job because the employer thought he may get sued for discrimination. When its so bad the co worker actually quits his job to get away from the guy, somethings up

need to be given proper time to speak? They are not waiting for the FBI, oh no. They are making absolute declarations based on pure conjecture and bias.

will play right into scaring people into "we need guns to protect ourselves". straight out of a horror movie especially with him holding the 3 year old hostage after killing the parents. he actually said in his video "what shall i do with it". this is a faux/republican wet dream.

it was still a hate crime. But he set up all of that as cover so he could case the place. Easier to do more damage in a place that you know.

Both can be involved.

That said, the Islamist terrorism angle is looking more shaky by the day with him having named terrorist groups that are enemies.

I do not understand why his support for multiple Islamist terrorist groups would make this any less of a terrorist incident.

"It wasn't an AR-15"!!1!! (It was a fricking Sig Sauer based on the AR-15 design. Are less people dead now?)

It was radical Islam/ISIS/whatever!!1!! (We aren't sure yet what exactly motivated him, did anyone come back?)

It was possibly terrorism, possibly (almost certainly) homophobic. It definitely involved a firearm with no civilian uses.

15. List of targets found at home of French police officer killed by IS-linked man: prosecutor

Jun 2016

PARIS, June 14 (Xinhua) -- A list of targets, including journalists and the police, was found in the house of the police officer who was stabbed to death on Monday night by an IS-linked man, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins said Tuesday at a press conference.

Three phones, three knives, including the one with blood placed on the table, were found in the house of the police officer, Molins added.

The prosecutor also said the assailant, Larossi Abballa, admitted to the police that he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) three weeks ago and acknowledged the victim's status as police officer.

Larossi Abballa was arrested in 2011 and sentenced to three years in prison in 2013 for helping extremist militants to go to Pakistan.
