'Daesh leader al-Baghdadi was killed'

Source: Yeni Safak

A pro-Daesh online portal claims terror group leader has been killed by airstrike on Raqqa

Leader of the DAESH terrorist organization, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been killed in US-led coalition airstrikes on Raqqa, the terror group reportedly claimed.

Arabic media wired the report of al-Baghdadi's death, citing pro-Daesh news agency al-Amaq.

The report said that Baghdadi had been killed on Sunday morning by the coalition air operation in Syria. The coalition operation command has not made a statement so far.

The so-called official news agency of the terror group said in a statement released on behalf of Daesh, that their “Caliph” al-Baghdadi had been killed.

it's not going to slow them down. He wasn't forcing anyone to do what they are doing. Everyone that's on his side are there because they want to be. Their #2 is going to become #1.

I don't know whether you watched the Frontline about al Baghdadi and ISIL, but he had some special qualities that allowed him to form ISIL. Extreme sadism was one of them. This won't make them go away, but it actually may hurt them quite a bit, especially as they are being attacked on several fronts and are relying more and more on foreign fighters than local Sunni Arabs.

We can hope.

I also note that the President and the US military have taken out a lot of the bad guys that his predecessor missed. And that without the videoed carrier landing and "mission accomplished" hoopla.

10. U.S. can't confirm reports ISIS leader al-Baghdadi was killed in Syria
Tue Jun 14, 2016, 12:11 PM
Jun 2016
Reports emerged Tuesday that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in an air strike in Syria, but U.S. officials say it’s probably not accurate.

The report appeared to originate from the Arabic language news agency al-Amaq, which is affiliated with the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL. But some terrorism experts said the online report was fake and was not an official al-Amaq publication.

U.S. military officials said there was no evidence suggesting Baghdadi is dead.

“We have no reason to believe that’s true,” Marine Corps Maj. Adrian Rankine-Galloway, a Pentagon spokesman, said Tuesday.
