Scotland-bound Trump says he'd vote for 'Brexit'

Source: USA Today

As he prepares for a quick trip to Scotland this week, Donald Trump is again weighing in on Great Britain's vote as to whether to leave the European Union.

"I would personally be more inclined to leave, for a lot of reasons like having a lot less bureaucracy," Trump told the Sunday Times. "But I am not a British citizen. This is just my opinion."

The "Brexit" vote on the European Union is Thursday, a day before Trump attends the reopening ceremony for one of his golf courses in Turnberry, Scotland.

Trump also attends a golf property in Aberdeen on Friday before returning to the United States over the weekend.

As Astraea notes above, Mr. Trump probably doesn't understand the details of the "Brexit" vote. The outcome of that referendum is extremely complicated yet he makes an off-the-cuff response. It's reminiscent of Mitt Romney's foreign trip during the 2012 campaign where he insulted each country he visited demonstrating that he would be terrible at foreign policy.

Mr. Trump is not a serious man. His campaign is financially strapped and it's in organizational chaos yet he has a full week to go to Scotland to visit his golf courses! Clearly, those businesses are more important to him than his presidential campaign.
