US airstrikes kill at least 250 ISIS fighters in convoy outside Fallujah, official says

Source: FOX

A series of American airstrikes killed at least 250 ISIS fighters driving in a convoy outside Fallujah on Wednesday, a senior U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News.

The strikes occurred on the outskirts of the Iraqi city in "southern Fallujah," a second U.S. defense official told Fox News.

"There was a strike on a convoy of ISIS fighters trying to leave a neighborhood on the outskirts of southern Fallujah that we struck," the official said.

At least 40 vehicles were destroyed in the airstrikes, a U.S. official told Reuters, which was first to report the air assault.

After what happened on Highway 80 in 1991, I find it hard to fathom that anyone facing US Air power would line up to retreat a once-occupied town.

Particularly since a good portion of Daesh officers and fighters are ex-Iraqi military.

Amazing how so many fox news fans are so upset over dead ISIS members.

It would be one thing if the criticism was coming from a "bombing/killing isn't the answer" point of view, but this is just flat out anti-obama nonsense. I wonder how many these people were the "It's unamerican to criticize the president during a time war" type of people when Bush was in office. It's funny how things change, huh?

Week after week the network news would report estimates of the number of VC and NVA killed. I remember asking my dad if the the numbers were true, shouldn't the war already be over? He told me the truth - they probably weren't.
