No rumored October surprise at WikiLeaks event

Source: The Hill

A Tuesday morning WikiLeaks event in Berlin did not produce an “#OctoberSurprise” to derail the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign that many had expected, but Julian Assange said he would release more documents before Election Day.

“I’ve seen the internet and I understand there is enormous expectation in the United States,” said Assange, the site's editor, via video conference at the event, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of WikiLeaks held at 10 a.m. Berlin time.

“Some of that expectation will be addressed [when I announce upcoming projects]. But you should understand that if we’re going to make a major publication in relation to the United States at a particular hour, we don’t do it at 3 a.m.”

Many observers believed that Assange had planned to announce a document post with damning evidence of corruption, wrongdoing or other scandal.

Alex Jones lost his SHIT - started rapping on Ludacris, looked like he was going to have a heart attack.

It was afternoon here, so I was just able to monitor the anticipation from conservatives on Twitter, and then the crushing disappointment. And finally, it was fun to turn on Alex Jones and watch him melt down.

Geraldo Rivera has just announced he's donating his collection of 1920s bottles. Said they were trophies, and they should go to the new champ.

The one thing I've noticed about Trump, his fans, and rightwingers in general is that they're complete suckers for magical thinking. They quickly fall for easy answers and even impossible to believe conspiracy theories - over difficult truths and good old fashioned hard work. Trump runs around shouting "results' without a clue how he'll achieve them. And the mob buys right into it, he makes it sound so easy. And just now with the Wikileaks bellyflop, they wasted precious campaign days hoping Al Capone's safe would fall on their opponents head, instantly killing her campaign. The dopes even stayed up all night to wait for it. The hype even caught hold of us here on the left (we're not immune to magical thinking either). It's all to say that the world and especially the right wingers among us have become complete suckers for bullshit. It's easy, it's magical and most all, too many people are too god damn lazy to put in the real effort and thinking it takes to win. Now let's get back to work for Hillary!!

Of course, they're pretty much full-on Pro-Trump now too, so you know - potato/potatoe.
