Police in Utah have warned residents that it is not legal to shoot random clowns following an increased number of clown sightings across the country.
The Orem Police Department wrote in a post on Facebook that their officers had answered more than 40 questions on social media and a few dozen calls about clowns in one day.
Police said they were concerned about the content, not the number, of the messages.
"'Can I shoot or take action against someone that is dressed up like a clown?' That's not a simple yes or no question. It has a lot of variables to it," the post read.

(4,642 posts)if they really had something to be afraid of, for instance, Syrian refugees dying by the thousands without food, water, housing and safety, yet all it takes are a few clowns roaming around to make Americans piss their pants? Not a good picture.

(35,274 posts)Tie the tag around the toe (or the ankle), tie him to the roof, and you're set.
And, yes, the tag is reusable, just stay under the daily limit.

(23,139 posts)or your hood. It's really greasy. For black lipstick I suggest goo-gone, but dab a bit on an unobtrusive spot first to make sure it's finish-safe. Also, remove their shoes, belts and jewelry to reduce scuffing and scratching. Oh yeah, and flip them front side up before you tie them down. Otherwise the rivets on their jeans can mar your finish as you brake and accelerate. Learned that one the hard way.

(30,715 posts)Have you ever noticed how they all look alike? And what if one of them commits a crime? You will never get them to admit it. Can you imagine a mime lawyer? They certainly won't have to tell their clients to refrain from speaking to the police. Those mimes...they sure understand their right to remain silent.

(332 posts)They just kept coming, and coming, and coming, across multiple states. Clowns in vans. Clowns in the woods. Clowns lurking in the shadows. Clowns chasing people or doing crimes.
But in recent weeks, steady police work has turned the news around, with 12 people facing charges of making false reports or threats, or chasing people, the authorities said. Other cases seem attributable to children with overactive imaginations, teenagers pulling pranks and others with their own reasons for adding to the hysteria. At least one death has been linked to a clown hoax.
