U.S. government officially accuses Russia of hacking campaign to influence elections

Source: Washington Post

The Obama administration on Friday officially accused Russia of carrying out a wide-ranging campaign to influence the 2016 elections, including by hacking the computers of the Democratic National Committee and other political officials.

The denunciation, made by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security, came as pressure was growing from within the administration and some lawmakers to hold Moscow accountable for a set of actions apparently aimed at sowing discord around the election.

The DNC publicly disclosed the intrusions in June, saying their investigation determined Russian government hackers were behind it. That was followed shortly afterwards by a major leak of DNC emails, some so embarrassing that they forced the resignation of the DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, on the eve of the Democratic national convention.

The administration also blamed Moscow for the hack of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the subsequent leak of private email addresses and cell phone numbers of Democratic lawmakers.

Nixon should have been tried for the Watergate break-in AND cover-up. Reagan should have been tried for treason when he convinced Iran to hold the hostages 'til after he took office, not to mention Iran-Contra.

Given the unabashed praise that has been given to Pooten, that both tRump and many officials in the GOP have been directly or indirectly supporting Russia's effort to influence this election, if not the internal functions of our government.
The Republicans are more interested in power and money than people and would have no issue with the United States being the first new republic of pooten's rebith of the USSR.

something but I am afraid the censors will come for me again. In one post, I said some of the posters may be cold war babies as in babies born during the cold war and the post was reported and then hidden for "name calling", then I made another post giving an alternative view of the western supported white helmets - the so called Syrian civil defense org and that one was also alerted for "kooky" post even though I supported my post with videos and pictures, same with my posting of a Syriangirlpartisan video.

The sad part is that I have petitioned all those hidden posts and have yet to get a response from the admins. It weird that only one point of view is welcomed on this site. If you are not pro American war machine, some people will start a censorship campaign against you. Very sad that the people trying to spread the information about the struggles of native people around the world are silenced on this forum.

Black and brown lives seem to only matter when they reside inside the bother of the US. Just know that your silence is complicity in the crimes of this empire.

I am wondering why the Pentagon hired that PR firm to increase news stories about tensions with Russia. This sounds so much like all the foolishness from 1956. What on earth? Of course Syria and Russia have been trading partners and friends for decades. So what.
I wish we would pull out of Syria and write them a big check so the Syrians and Russians could rebuild. We have no business there.

I am not kidding in the slightest.

In roughly half of RT-articles about the US you will find some matter-of-factly accusations that the US is really run by the Pentagon and not even the President can do something about them.
And a whistleblower told RT exclusively that this cabal of generals that run the US are psychopaths. Literal, clinical psychopaths.
Oh, and these psychopathic generals who secretly rule the US are also hell-bent on cooking up a war with the great and peace-loving nation of Russia so the military-industrial complex can make money.

Now... Please tell me again who is badmouthing whom with cooked up stories?

And btw, maybe it escaped you but Syria is also Russia's only mediterranean sea-port. If any new government were to take over in Syria, there would be the risk that Russia would no longer have any haven in the Mediterranean Sea where its warships could dock.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand maybe you should read up on reports and articles about warcrimes and torture commited by Assad's regime. Assad bombing his own people because rebels are hiding somewhere among them. Tens of thousands disappeared into government torture-dungeons. Thousands literally tortured to death. Read up on what Amnesty International's investigations have found out about this.
The international community DOES have business there.

Like li'l bush.

But he's definitely in favor of his "biggest commie in the world" pal and his buddy's oligarch and mafiya buddies doing everything they can to put him in power, so he can sell out the US and make some money. Odd that all li'l donnie's bircher nazi buddies are in love with him, despite all the Putin ties, though. I recall Vonnegut said the fascist mind operates like a cuckoo clock in hell keeps time.

If the Russians were smart enough to hack into our innermost political circles, I'm sure they were smart enough NOT to let Trump know about it so he could boast about it during the debates.

Their argument was that the accusations cannot possibly be true, because otherwise the US would have accused Russia officially.

Also, Trump cannot possibly have any connection to the DNC-hacking because his family denies that he has any connections to it.

Not kidding.
