'So many self-righteous hypocrites’: Donald Trump unloads on critics in morning tweetstorm

Source: Business Insider

Donald Trump on Sunday morning fired off a flury of tweets, criticizing members of his own party for withdrawing their endorsements of him in light of a newly-released 2005 hot mic incident capturing him boasting about forcing himself on women.

"So many self-righteous hypocrites. Watch their poll numbers - and elections - go down!" Trump wrote.

"Tremendous support (except for some Republican "leadership&quot . Thank you," he said in a separate tweet an hour earlier.

While the majority of Sunday's tweets were retweets of supporters shaming Republican lawmakers who un-endorsed Trump, the Republican presidential nominee also previewed a potential line of attack against Hillary Clinton at Sunday night's presidential debate in St. Louis.

Establishment Republicans are self-righteous hypocrites? Wow. Mark this down. For once I agree with Trump. It took a video with Billy Bush for Republicans to suddenly discover that Trump is a misogynist?

If he pulls out, and the sooner he does it, the better chance Priebus and the boys have to slip in Pence or some other "more plausible" candidate. Sure, some #deplorables will whine and stay home, but the older core GOP will come out in greater force. Orange Hitler is directly hurting down-ballot rethugs. I want him to keep doing that with wilder and madder words and actions. Let him destroy the GOP, and lose in a landslide, and the #deplorables will crawl back under their rock for a while.

This year MUST be about the presidency. Even if there was a chance that his Brown Shirts stayed home and starved the down-ballot GOP for votes WORSE than he is already killing their chances, that's not what this race is about. Keep him in and destroying the GOP.

If he takes down the repug party with him, he'll have done us at least one service. He doesn't give a damn about repugs, most of whom tolerated him, anyway. Now it's time to pay the bill, and he's doing what he always does. He walks away and stiffs those who have helped him. I'd be happy to see John McCain and Kelly Ayotte go down. I'd be delighted if Paul Ryan loses his speakership and Mitch McConnell relegated to a ash pile he has helped create. Btw, the repug caucus turned on Newt Gingrich and forced him out of his job in 1998 even though they barely managed to keep control of the house. It could happen again.

the Senate approves SCOTUS nominees. One of the main reasons Clinton must be elected is to save us from the Roberts court. One seat is open and Judge Ginsberg will retire at some point in the next four years. Citizens United must be overturned. The effect of that ruling are incalculable. Just think of curbing the Koch brothers, alone, would mean.

He's completely in denial of what the revelation of his true obsession means. He's a sexual predator with a criminal mind, and he's secure in the assumption that all men are like him. But he's only like other racists and rapists.

He just can't help himself. His desire to destroy those who abandoned him, will outweigh any desire to win. If he's going down, he is going to take a lot of people with him. I have never seen such extreme vindictiveness in real life. It reminds me more of old Saturday Morning Cartoon villains.

It was always party over country, and then their seats over country

They waited too long to confront Trump. The time was ripe in March,
they would have succeeded if they'd pulled him then, but they had already
decided to stand down for the year and run out the clock on the Obama
Presidency and Supreme Court nominee. They paid a subtle price for their
intransigence: they lost political energy, the most valuable commodity
in politics. Waiting is not a popular strategy, it's boring, and it looks to all
like you don't know what you're doing.

Now we just have to hold our ground and stand up for ourselves

Don't give Trump room to wiggle
