Lt. Gov. Guadagno breaks with Christie, won't vote for Trump
Source: New Jersey Local News
Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is breaking with Gov. Chris Christie and says she will not vote for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, and hasn't decided if she'll vote for a third party candidate or not at all.
So, too, is the only declared 2017 GOP governor candidate, Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-Somerset), who says he likely won't vote in November, and is calling on Trump to voluntarily step aside.
For years, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno has been a Christie loyalist, never publicly taking a position that differed from that of her boss and deflecting most of political questions to the governor to whom she owes her job.
That changed on Saturday, when Guadagno answered a question on Twitter from an editor at the south Jersey publications The Daily Journal and Courier-Post about her reaction to an explosive video of Donald Trump's boasting of a cavalier attitude about sexual assault.

(128,844 posts)let alone what her name was. She was apparently flying so far under the radar that you needed sonar to track her. And Philly is S. Jersey's media market. Amazing!

(11,238 posts)Out of the same mold as Christie. I forget the particulars, but there was a college (or something) wanting to do an archeological dig (or something) but she could see the site out of her window & it messed up her view so she had it squashed. Lol, my details are hazy but google her. She's as vindictive & ruthless with people as he is.

(841 posts)The decision to bury the site was linked to Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno. The Republican former federal prosecutor and Monmouth County sheriff had become the states first lieutenant governor in January, 2010.
In November, 2010, she announced that she was to refill the area next to the Statehouse as soon as possible to improve the grounds.
Newspaper articles explained that Guadagno could see the site from her window and considered it an eyesore.
The bill to rescue the site was initiated by two Trenton-area Democratic members of the state assembly: Bonnie Watson Coleman (who at that time had claimed to be bullied by Governor Christie, who would later put her to a Willie Horton type of context) and assemblyman Reed Gusciora (later to be labeled numbnuts by Christie).

(128,844 posts)I was just searching around and apparently the state Constitution was amended to create the position effective in the 2009 election due to something I *do* remember happening there - numerous "acting governors"!

(128,844 posts)I suppose since Chrisitie is such a blowhard that few others can get words in edgewise when it comes to media coverage!
I do hope Jersey is fielding some (somewhat non-corrupt because completely non-corrupt is about impossible there) Democrats when their terms are up.

(113 posts)She played a big role in Bridgegate too.
Remember the other part of Bridgegate where the mayor of Hoboken stated Hurricane Sandy aid was being held up by the mayor not approving a high-rise that David Samson wanted built?
Remember, she was 'allegedly' the one that passed on to the mayor that the reason why the aid was being held up.
She of course, denied it.
She's just as bad as Christie.
