Trump halts big-money fundraising, cutting off cash to the party
Source: Washington Post
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has effectively shut down his high-dollar fundraising operation for the rest of the campaign, a highly unusual move that deals another serious blow to the GOP's effort to finance its get-out-the-vote operation before Election Day.
Steven Mnuchin, Trump's national finance chairman, said in an interview with The Washington Post on Tuesday that Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee between the party and the campaign, held its last formal fundraiser on Oct. 19. The luncheon was in Las Vegas on the day of the final presidential debate.
"Weve kind of wound down," Mnuchin said. "But the online fundraising continues to be strong."

And isn't it sweet! Oh yeah, punish the GOP! Democrats should no longer be the only self-punishing party.

We also have the positive message, which is what wins Presidential elections in America.

the bottom line is that they are un-American.
BTW as boy in a middle class neighborhood in N.W. PA our next door neighbor's brother
was Governor of PA. Nice guy, played with the us kids, supported education, infrastructure,
civil rights, unions, and the Environment and his name was Ray Shafer and he would have no
home in the Republican party today.
We need the senate bad so we can get SCOTUS justices and get rid of that God damn Citizen's
United ruling ..... dark money has been pouring into OH snd it has really hurt Ted Strickland
and his run for US Senate.

(10,122 posts)that Trump has spent millions of his campaign's money on operating his jet ($10,000 per hour), selling his books to his campaign (that he gets royalties on) and charging heavily (millions) for events at his golf and hotel properties.
So a bunch the $56 million he supposedly contributed and probably got a tax deduction for, came back to him via book sales, usage of his properties and paying the operating costs of his jet.
And he'll spin that media circus into a cable tv network and trying to get Clinton-like speaking fees ...
