Trump Son: Dad 'Started the Conversation' About Obama Birthplace

Source: NBC News

Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton of starting the birther controversy but Trump's own son praised his dad "starting the conversation" about where Barack Obama was born.

Eric Trump's comments came during a series of previously unpublished interviews from 2014, in which he and his older brother, Donald Jr., compared him to Winston Churchill, bragged that he was paid $2 million to have dinner with the mother of a construction contractor, and insisted there were "hundreds" of billionaires who would "take a bullet" for the Republican presidential candidate.

In the interviews, conducted by author Michael D'Antonio for his book "The Truth About Trump" and provided to NBC News, the Trump sons struggled to defend their father's penchant for hyperbole and his "investigation" of Obama's birthplace. Donald Jr. suggested that he wasn't allowed to talk about Obama's origins because of political correctness: "I'm the white privileged son of a rich guy."

Asked to explain his father's championing of claims that Obama was foreign-born, and thus ineligible for the presidency, Donald Jr. contended that his birther probe was more of a metaphor for media bias than an actual effort to prove Obama was an illegitimate office-holder.

Long article, but well worth reading in full to see how delusional the Trumps are.

As it happens, the rumor first appeared in the early hours of Saturday, March 1, 2008, on the conservative web forum, FreeRepublic.com. In a thread entitled “FR CONTEST: Pin the Middle Name on the Obama,” where posters were offering various ‘funny’ middle names for Barack Obama in lieu of “Hussein,” a poster named “FARS” posted this non-sequitur:

I was told today that Obama swore in on a Koran for his Senate seat. I do not believe he did. Can someone clarify this for me? I am under the impression only a Congressman has so far sworn in on a Koran.

Also that Obama’s mother gave birth to him overseas and then immediately flew into Hawaii and registered his birth as having taken place in Hawaii.

Again, any clarifications on this? Defintely disqualifies him for Prez. There must be some trace of an airticket. While small babies are not charged air fare they do have a ticket issued for them.

Long time ago but there may be some residual information somewhere. Good ammo (if available and true) BEST USED AFTER he becomes PREZ (if that occurs) and it’s too late for Dems - except accept the VP.

aka Hey, boy let me see your papers.

Barack Obama's birth announcement was in 2 different Hawaiian newspapers and they
got that information form the Dept. of Health who in turn got that information from
hospital @ which Obama was born. So not unless Obama owned a time machine so he
or somebody else could go back in time and call in all the correct births and deaths @ that
hopsital alomg with "the false information" about Obama's birth then this whole "birther
thing" was just racist crab for people who didn't want a black man as President. And Trump
went along for the ride.

I guess I was just too stupid all this time to realize questioning the president's place of birth was a metaphor for media bias. Being born into money does not make one smart, but sure gives him a yuuge media platform to spew his bullshit. I guess that's just another example of media bias.

weren't Tea Bagger types questioning his birth in 2008 while Obama was first running for president? It had almost gone away when Trump started the drumbeat again in 2011, right?
