Trump transition trying to raise $100,000
Source: Politico
Donald Trump's transition team is trying to raise money from Beltway insiders, even as the Republican nominee's chances to win the White House fade and hes stopped sending money to the party.
Ed Feulner, a former president of conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, is asking $5,000 a person to attend an information session with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie next week at the Metropolitan Club, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO.
At Christies request, Feulner is trying to raise $100,000 for transition costs that arent covered by federal funding, he wrote in an email to supporters on Tuesday. Feulner said he's volunteering to help the transition on issues including government regulation, school choice, health care reform, energy deregulation, welfare and food stamp reforms.
The Trump transition team, under Christies leadership, has grown to more than 100 people as it compensates for the campaigns lack of policy staff. The effort has brought on Cam Henderson, who had been the finance director for a super PAC supporting Christies own presidential bid, to help supplement the government funding.

(6,241 posts)"Presidential candidate Donald Trump" to "Failed presidential hopeful Donald Trump". Going to take a good, qualified therapist and a lot of meds to help him put his mind back together, looking at all of those blue states on the map.
Seeing "Clinton transition team" is going to turn the screws in his brain. So I can see the need for transition there.

(128,844 posts)So that's $1,000 each for the 1 week after this event when they will supposedly look like they are working on "transition", through to election day when they lose.
Not bad to make $1,000/week for basically showing up.

(50,553 posts)Trump ties his plane down at LaGuardia. Jet fuel is $6.50 per gallon there; you can get 15,290 gallons of it for $100,000 - which is more than Trump's plane holds, but...well, you know, he might want to buy some groceries or something before he leaves.
Countries he can run to that won't throw him back:
