Virginia Paper Endorses Pat McCrory Because HB 2 Is Sending Them Jobs

This may be the finest example of trolling of the entire election cycle.
WASHINGTON ― A Virginia newspaper is endorsing North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) for re-election because his anti-LGBTQ law, HB 2, is driving business out of his state and into Virginia.
Which candidate would do the most to help our local economy? Thats easy. Its Pat McCrory, the Republican governor of North Carolina, reads a Friday editorial in The Roanoke Times.
In all, North Carolina has already lost at least $395 million to HB 2, according to a tally by Wired. That doesnt include the $250 million and 730 jobs the state lost this week when CoStar Group, a real estate research firm, announced it chose Richmond, Virginia, for a major expansion instead of Charlotte, North Carolina, because of the law.

(71,611 posts)They'd even quote "would do the most to help our local economy" with exclamation marks. The Republican "base" wouldn't know shit about it.

(17,911 posts)By no means all of us. And not a majority either. Just a majority of those who actually show up and the damn polls. Our turnout usually stinks and old racists, homophobes seem to vote no matter what....but that's changing. Just like VA, we're turning more and more blue every election. Even Burr is in the fight of his career this time around. I didn't see that coming. Pat McDumbass will more than likely get sacked in my opinion.
