11/28/16- Roland Martin talks to Rev. William Barber, NAACP North Carolina conference chair, about the newest issues that North Carolina is facing against the Republicans.
What these people are doing is incredibly cynical and wrong. They filed bogus complains claiming voting fraud. The did that to slow down the canvasing process. Now the Governor is calling for a recount but hes filed these bogus complaints. This is bad, Rev. Barber said.

(26,280 posts)least that varies politicians will keep on trying to gerrymander districts and that criminal charges might actually cause the politicians to really reconsider their actions in the future before trying this shit.

(6,344 posts)The court's ruling is already on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, as is the case involving Congressional districts. The court will hear the case regarding the Congressional maps on Monday, Dec. 5th.

Either way, however, the legislature gets to draw the next set of lines... so it's unlikely to be a huge improvement. It might, however, be enough to break their super-majority (a key with an incoming Democratic governor).
