More than 2,000 U.S. veterans are planning to descend on North Dakota this weekend, where they will make a human shield around the protesters there. More than 7,000 people are camped out in a massive months-long demonstration organized by the Standing Rock Sioux in opposition to the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which they say threatens tribal lands.

The group, Veterans Stand for Standing Rock, has decided to protect the camp after the federal government called for its evacuation.

While the deadline for the evacuation has passed, both local authorities and the Army Corps of Engineers have confirmed that they have no plans to remove anybody by force, despite an emergency call from the state’s governor on Monday to immediately vacate the camp.

Veterans Stand for Standing Rock is headed by former U.S. Marine Michael Wood Jr. and Wesley Clark Jr., whose father is retired U.S. Army General Wesley Clark......................

from Heitkamp, Hoever, Cramer and the sheriff Morton, private security pukes, and the 7 state militias units parading around using some illegal creed called patriotism to protect some corporation is outrageous, and anyone not "obeying" there words are considered terrorists.

So now that "U.S. Veterans" are going to stand and protect human beings---------------------and there Rights.

Where is Obama!!!!!!!

and all he has to do, is take out a pen, sign an "order" and tell the Army Corp of Engineers, they are the "army" of the United States and he is there COMMANDER and CHIEF, and tell them to go to the corporation they are protecting, for whatever god damn reason, and tell them cease and move your operation some place else, you did not do a environmental impact review and you violated your code of ethics and how to operate anything, and then go before the people of this country and tell us what he did and you have violated the UN Act of Indigenous People and the treaties of 1856 and 1868 simple, if you can't uphold the treaties then leave, or don't sign any of them and then show your true hypocrisy, for what it is, and not this scam that is now being perpetuated, you sign now honor the signing of the agreements---------------simple.

Then we can see the orange sta- puff marsh mellow serial predator come out and blow a fuse and have a heart attack

Then we can see and hear Heitkamp and Cramer, and Hoever come and show there true right wing colors of Manifest Destiny and Doctrine of Discovery and the sheriff and the "governor" of self righteous hypocrisy and his AG think of some other excuse to make up while talking the moola form the same corporation, that has had issues with spills and still causing pollution, ----remember that big old explosion last year---------------well same operation different name

Makes me proud to be the daughter of a military man who served his country for 30 years. When he finally retired, he put a sticker on his car which read, "US Army - still serving." These brave men and women are still serving their country as well.

. . .

7:45 p.m.

Military veterans who have arrived at an encampment to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline walked into an area that has been blocked off by police and asked the officers standing guard there to lay down their arms.

A group of 15 to 20 veterans, some wearing camouflage jackets, staged the symbolic protest on Thursday evening to show their solidarity with opponents of the pipeline slated to carry oil from western North Dakota to Illinois.

Using a megaphone, police told the veterans to move away because they were trespassing. The veteran shouted back that they had served their country and had a right to be there.

The protest lasted about 40 minutes on a cold evening with snow on the ground, forcing the veterans to scramble over mounds of snow during the peaceful demonstration.
