San Franciscos Official Response to the Election of Trump

Source: http://sfbaytimes.com/

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors recently passed a resolution, introduced by Board President London Breed, in response to the election of Donald Trump. The resolution reads as follows:

WHEREAS, On November 8, 2016, Donald Trump was elected to become the 45th President of the United States; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That no matter the threats made by President-elect Trump, San Francisco will remain a Sanctuary City. We will not turn our back on the men and women from other countries who help make this city great, and who represent over one third of our population. This is the Golden Gate—we build bridges, not walls; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, That we will never back down on women’s rights, whether in healthcare, the workplace, or any other area threatened by a man who treats women as obstacles to be demeaned or objects to be assaulted. And just as important, we will ensure our young girls grow up with role models who show them they can be or do anything; and, be it

People who claim to be true San Franciscans are said to be disdainful of the Fisherman's Wharf / Pier 39 / Waterfront Park area. But I can't get enough of 'em.

And I don't even care about the Frisco business, either.

Federal law can be enforced in SF by federal agents, just as it can anywhere. But the feds cannot force a state to have a law penalizing undocumented immigrants, nor can they force a state to use its resources to enforce federal law. A city is a subdivision of the state. A state could force a city to cooperate with the feds on this issue, and some have.

It is the ONLY thing that will keep me sane while watching the horseshit transpire from (hopefully) afar. What's too goddamned bad is that California cannot secede from the areas in which the Kool-Aid drinking Rubes decided to exercise their voting power.

Honestly (no offense to Dems from other places), we have one of the biggest economies in the WORLD, and we don't need the rest of the USA. It would be so nice to incorporate ourselves with Canada as one of their provinces. In any case, one thinks of catastrophic earthquakes or other awful events. How much does anybody really think thin-skinned Yam would be willing to help California? -- a multicultural state that kicked him in his orange asshole. . .

Ugh. Even living here, I have a perpetual nauseous feeling just knowing people like our new. . . . leader. . . . exist.

The BC economy is strong and they end up subsidizing some other areas of Canada.

I could easily see Army Tanks rolling down Market Street to City Hall, pointing their turrets towards the City Hall building, demanding the surrender of our mayor and board of supervisors.
Followed by a trial for being traitors.

Maybe at this point, California will vote to become a separate nation, only to find troops at our borders, not unlike a country that borders on Putin's Russia.

Pier 39, in San Francisco, near Fisherman's Wharf, has a colony of Sea Lions that are always noisy and entertaining.  Here's a typical night-time experience with the Sea Lions of Pier 39.

You can see the Golden Gate bridge stretching across the bay, with the lights of Sausalito off in the distance.
