Ivanka Trump, climate czar?

The first daughter aims to use the first ladys lectern to champion liberal causes.
By Annie Karni 12/01/16 05:12 AM EST

In September, as Donald Trump railed against the media and sold himself as the candidate of the forgotten man, Ivanka Trump ventured into the lair of the liberal media and power elite that was laughing at her father.

She jetted off to Aspen with her husband, Jared Kushner, to attend Weekend with Charlie Rose, an off-the-record gathering at which 90 percent of invitees were Trump haters.

If there were any question whether Ivankas deep involvement in her fathers divisive campaign would ruin her social standing among liberals, here was her answer: Less than two months before Election Day, she was still a member of the club albeit with a full security detail keeping her at a slight remove.

And the ambitious daughter, who once plotted her career around international brand domination, is planning to take on an even heavier lift. Ivanka wants to make climate change — which her father has called a hoax perpetuated by the Chinese — one of her signature issues, a source close to her told Politico. The source said Ivanka is in the early stages of exploring how to use her spotlight to speak out on the issue.

I'd be more hopeful about her than his other picks. I say give her the chance. Aside, of course, for the massive conflicts involved, although I think they are here to stay. Not that they shouldn't be fought long and hard.

Although, an argument could be made to pull a page from Ye Olde Book of Clinton Smears and remind everybody from the rooftops that we didn't vote for her.

i'm not going to hate on her a priori. frankly i'm glad it's not Palin. of all the cretins in the "cabinet" so far, I have the least problem with her - who knows? she might accidentally have some respect for nature and science that her daddy doesn't know about yet.

She is just trying to appeal with words and no action. If she really wanted to do something meaningful, she would convince her dad to accept science. Since he has so much faith and values her wisdom so much.

Also, for all we know, "making climate change her cause" could mean she's going to work even harder to discredit science.

Could he hire/appoint even one qualified individual to even one position?

Why do I feel the burning desire to re-read "The Road"?

My right wing brother sends me Drudge Report stories all the time of celebrities and democrats taking private jets to climate events...and I can't even say anything back. If you want to be taken serious on climate change you have to live it.

I doubt Ivanka is going to do anything on climate, but if Trumpy has anyone in his ear who believes it to be a real issue that's a positive.

Are we also to believe the she'll be running the Trump Organization in a 'blind trust' while also being a White House Czar. Does this bitch think we're fucking stupid? And her dumb ass husband is one of Trump's biggest advisors and responsible for this mess. Are people going to realize this whole dumb ass family is part of the con!

I like her.

And if she cares about climate change, well, that's awesome. There's probably nobody else in the world who has his ear like she does.
