More of the lovely triple plate action. There are big quakes that hit there a lot. About 20+ years ago there were two 7+ magnitude quakes in one night. Scared the hell out of me and yeah, I felt it alright!

damage is minimal...

Bad area for tsunamis if there is one (steep coastal bluffs, few escape routes)

so you are basically screwed if you live there and a BIG ONE hits.

Farewell to the likes of Petrolia, Ferndale and other adjacent areas that are right there.

Did the northwest dodge a bullet? Subduction quakes can be big.

Wondering if there will be a batch of them like the night there were two 7+ magnitude ones (from the same area) in one night.

This is a dangerous area, nice but dangerous.

Tourists go to Ferndale and love it. Many want to move there. I try to warn them but, do they listen?

I wouldn't care to live in Ferndale for any reason at all! Too dicey for the likes of me!

I was 5 miles from the Napa earthquake epicenter in 2014. When you're that close you quickly gain respect for the magnitude of even a 6.0. I hope I'm long before the Big One strikes the Bay Area.

Yeah, seems odd that it would shake in Oregon but not in between the epicenter and there.

I've lived in SoCal all of my 53 years and have been thru many quakes. I don't live in fear or state of worry.
