Muslim teen who reported NYC subway harassment reported missing

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- A Muslim teen who said she was verbally attacked by three drunk men on the subway last week has been reported missing, CBS New York reports.


Yasmin Seweid, 18, was last seen leaving her New Hyde Park, Long Island, home on Wednesday, police said.

She was wearing a black jacket, blue sweater, black yoga pants, and black head scarf and carrying a bag of clothing.

Last Thursday, Seweid told CBS New York that she was on the 6 train heading home from a school event when she was verbally attacked by the men, who she said made references to President-elect Donald Trump and called her an “f-ing terrorist.”

do NOT give out name. Request immediately that the police do not give out name. Do whatever possible to keep name private.

This has gone beyond Trump tweeting disapproval of an individual and then his "fans" following up with threats. That has now happened enough times without him calling for it to stop that the mechanism has taken on a life of its own. They're bigly emboldened now, and will attack anyone who makes conservatives / the GOP / Trump "look bad" even if all the person did was get attacked by Trump fans*.


*Trump fans = racists, homo- or transphobes, misogynists, white supremacists, conservative Christians, Republicans, etc etc etc.
