McMullin: 'Trump is not a loyal American'
Source: The Hill
Former conservative independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin on Saturday accused President-elect Donald Trump of not being "a loyal American."

It must be clear that Donald Trump is not a loyal American and we should prepare for the next four years accordingly," McMullin wrote on Twitter.
McMullin argued that with the selection of Tillerson, "Trump has identified a potential secretary of state unlikely to oppose Trump's alignment with Putin."
He also accused Trump of "purposely dismantling barriers that protect our nation from dangerous Russian subversion, which he has also welcomed."

wonder how many electors are not cheeto worshippers? dont see any reason to believe there are none, since they were picked early on in the process, i think.
did you see this?

(36,739 posts)If they can't vote for Hillary, I hope Hillary steps forward and "unbinds" her electors to vote freely.
This is about preserving the American republic.

(24,304 posts)He seems to be their rallying point, which is understandable
He stood opposed to Trump from the beginning, while people like Rubio and Cruz eventually caved
It will be interesting to see what happens
No matter what, the blood-letting will be something
If they vote Il Douche he will likely come in at about 40% popularity, with large opposition from within his own party -- Russia being the biggest issue
If the electors were to keep him under 270, then I am guessing that enough of the Republicans in the House would go with Kasich or someone else -- a Republican
The administration would struggle early on with the angry Trumpolini faithful, but could right the ship enough
Trump would be a disaster, but his throngs of fascist faithful will not abandon him

(36,739 posts)Each state Reps caucus and decide which candidate they will vote for as a state.
The first of the 3 candidates to get to 26 states is the next POTUS.
Anyone who thinks it'll be Clinton is probably fooling themselves since more states have larger Republican congressional delegations, so they will clear 26 states. It's who they ultimately vote for that would be at issue

Republicans control the majority of states in the House
She isn't going to get it

(3,251 posts)The Republicans in the EC are partisan chickenshits.

(24,304 posts)That's nothing new
They are a slate chosen by the party
They aren't just some group of people chosen by a non-partisan group based on some special knowledge or ability

(17,088 posts)Do the electors converse, make alliances and otherwise collaborate on their votes?
Not being in the US, I've tried to find some clarity on this but no luck. I've wondered, do they vote in a metaphorical vacuum or is there conversation between them before the electoral vote?

(36,739 posts)He's the one planning to Dump Trumpf. He confirmed that other electors are getting deluged by correspondence. So contact is inferred from that statement as well.

All immigrants have a security check a thousand! times harder than trump. He gets nothing, not one basic check. Republicans don't seem to care at all.
