(1,300 posts)Didn't seem like we had a chance. Did national Democrats even try?
If we wanted a candidate that excited voters we should have run a progressive (yes in Louisiana, EVERYWHERE).

(9,109 posts)That Campbell got a fair amount of financial support from out-of-state Democrats even if the DNC and the DSCC were nowhere to be seen.

(94,333 posts)We'll need every dollar in 2018 and any political analyst could tell you we weren't going to win this runoff.

(9,109 posts)The DNC and the DSCC should have at least made token efforts, if for no other reason than to counter the vision of Democrats-as-gutless-weenies-who-won't-fight. THAT, by the way, is the reason I contributed directly to Campbell's campaign, even if the national party is again MIA.
Rolling over and playing dead is a bad habit to get into, particularly in coming races where we have SOME chance of winning. Louisiana may be a lousy battleground for now, although their voters may reconsider after a couple of floods and hurricanes and Team Trump gives FEMA a second Brownie-style makeover.

(94,333 posts)...you wanted a hopeless but symbolic expenditure. I want expenditures that make a difference.
How much did you contribute to Eliot Glassheim in North Dakota (he got 17% of the vote)? shouldn't we have sent the same message there?
