Student at MICDS says the school has been unwelcoming to Trump supporters

Source: STL Post Dispatch

LADUE • One of the St. Louis region’s most prestigious schools is acting on the concerns of a student who says she and her peers were discriminated against for supporting President-elect Donald Trump and Governor-elect Eric Greitens.

Now, Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School is engaging in what its top leader says is an effort to ensure that students of all viewpoints are respected.

“My message to the community is that it’s not okay for any group to be marginalized,” Head of School Lisa Lyle said in an interview.

Lyle was prompted to act when a high school senior at MICDS sent a letter to her principal the week after Thanksgiving. The letter alleged that she and other Republican-supporting students haven’t been treated fairly, especially since Election Day.

Did anyone rip your head scarf off and call you a terrorist? Did anyone spray paint swastikas around your apartment? I could go on, but I'm not feeling sympathy here for these girls.

I don't care if I make their lives miserable. And I don't mind harassing a bunch of racist bigoted kids. They deserve nasty treatment. They and their despicable ilk have sold out the country. And if there is a war they will go first and be right on the front lines.

These little bastards complain when the worm has turned on them. Fuck them. If anything I would put fear in their hearts.

is a sure sign of extremely low IQ or sociopathic tendencies. They should bypass schooling and just get a job at fox news.

Well imagine how the rest of us, who don't have 26 thousand fucking dollars a year to spend on a fucking high school education, feel right now? Think we feel pretty fucking marginalized?

Young Racists for Freedom Club couldn't find a sponsor. Oh dear, I wonder why.

“Imagine if the word ‘white’ in some of these tweets was changed to ‘black’ and how much more hideous and racist they would be deemed. It is being assumed that the current election results are all ‘white peoples’ faults (sic) and that because individuals support trump (sic), that automatically means that all white people have a deep hatred for all other people, which is just simply untrue along with extremely unfair.”

But it is white people's fault and no, not all white people have a deep hatred for all other people, it's mostly a cursory hatred. Something trivial like skin color or the way 'they' talk or what religion 'they' belong to that's different from yours. Because in your white affluent society, differences are to be feared and shunned.

And please, try to understand something. If you're going to openly support a racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, sexist person for whatever reason, don't be surprised when you are couched with them.

The school hasn't marginalized these kids -- their peers have.

One whiner complains that seeing another student wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt puts her in a tizzy.

These are privileged little wingnut snowflakes who imagine because Trump won, they can now shit on anyone. And their fellow students aren't having it.
