Trump on CIA assessment of Russian intervention in election: 'I think it's ridiculous'
Source: MSN/The Hill
President-elect Donald Trump is blasting a recent report that concluded Russia intervened in the U.S. presidential election to help him win the presidency.
"I think it's ridiculous. I think it's just another excuse. I don't believe it," the president-elect said in an interview that aired Sunday on "Fox News Sunday."
"I don't know why and I think it's just -- you know, they talked about all sorts of things. Every week it's another excuse."
The president-elect went on to tout his "massive landslide victory" in the Electoral College.

The cover-up begins. The obvious question is how would Trump know since he rarely attends intelligence briefings. Also, it is one thing to say that his campaign neither sought nor needed Russia's help, notwithstanding his calls for Russia to hack Hillary Clinton, but it is another to insist that he has some personal knowledge of what Russia is doing, which is itself strange.
Finally, the fact that he makes yet another bald-faced lie about his "landslide" victory just further underminds his point. Even if you ignore popular vote, Trump's "victory" is one of the narrower electoral college victories in history:

(15,543 posts)No one should be surprised that the Republican propaganda spigot failed to correct an obvious and glaring lie. Anyone paying attention knows this "landslide" claim is false, and for the sake of the American people, journalists have a fundamental responsibility to correct the lie.
It speaks volumes that Fox (R) once again avoids the truth as if it were a plague. It's freaking DISINFORMATION CORPORATION (R).

I assume that is what they are saying because I can god damn assure you that is the plan, now.

This is quite problematic if a President of the United States doesn't believe the intelligence agency of the United States, and provides no evidence why he believes it isn't true, and it seems he hasn't even looked at the data or read the report..
Is this grounds for impeachment? I would think it is if he isn't attending intelligence briefings, because that is part of the job.
The fact that he says, "his vice president, Mike Pence, would receive his daily intelligence briefings, means he is dismissing the importance of interacting with the agencies. This is really a serious matter.

(11,518 posts)He fucking knows EXACTLY what was going on. He was coordinating his efforts with them and wiki-leaks. Every bit as bad as, if not worse than, Reagan coordinating with the Iranians to hold our hostages until after the election in exchange for arms. I have to wonder what promises tRump has made to Putin for his help. Also, what did Comey receive in exchange for his involvement, or does he simply hate the Clintons so much that he was willing to commit a crime to prevent Hillary's election.
TomCADem
(17,387 posts)...Heck, Hillary Clinton called for all information regarding Weiner's computer be made public in response to Comey's letter, and the result was that there was no new evidence. Trump should support an inquiry and full disclosure in the public interest given that there is clear evidence of a coordinated attack on the Democrats in an effort to influence the election.

He will largely bypass or ignore intelligence briefings,

that means destroying NATO while Russia extends
