Short article. Just heard it on the local radio news station. It is running on some of the entertainment sites.
If this is confirmed, 2016 keeps taking them... And in her case, she had so many medical issues the past 10 years. But wow @ the 99.

(9,694 posts)Zsa Zsa Gabor, Hungarian-American beauty queen and actress whose varied acting career was often overshadowed by her colorful personal life a personal life that included a string of ex-husbands like hotel magnate Connie Hilton and actor George Sanders has died after suffering a heart attack in her home. She was 99.
Born during the first world war in Budapest, then co-capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Gabor grew up the child of a wealthy Jewish family in the newly-established state of Hungary alongside her siblings, elder sister Magda Gabor, and equally famous younger sister Eva Gabor. Educated at a Swiss boarding school, Zsa Zsa was discovered in 1934 by Austrian opera tenor Richard Tauber, beginning her acting career on the stage.
An early shot at fame came in 1936 when she was crowned Miss Hungary and from there kicked off what would become a varied career that included a 1944 novel, and dozens of film and television roles. Among her film roles, she appeared in Orson Welles Touch of Evil, The Road to Hong Kong, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and even A Very Brady Sequel. In one of her few leading roles, Gabor memorably played Jane Avril in 1952s Moulin Rouge alongside José Ferrer.
Meanwhile, on television her numerous guest roles include appearances on The Milton Berle Show, Batman, Gilligans Island, Bonanza, The Love Boat, The Facts of Life, the Pee-wees Playhouse Christmas Special, Its Garry Shandlings Show, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
But of course, it was her personal life, not her entertainment career, for which Zsa Zsa became world famous. Married nine times, her husbands included the likes of left wing Turkish activist and politician Burhan Asaf Belge (married from 19371941), Hotel tycoon Conrad Connie Hilton (1942 1947), and The Saint actor George Sanders (1949 1954).

If anything, she was a tough and determined lady.

I fear that is what we have, overtly, in Trump, ignoring the radical
compatriots he has appointed. Inspector Clouseau. Clouseau fouled
everything up, insulted everyone, got into one problem after another,
but always thought he was doing a perfect job and got up totally
unaware that he had created a mess.

(81,220 posts)the modern version of the Gabor Sisters. Craving attention, famous for being famous - and a guilty pleasure to look at, and they did find their way onscreen plenty. They were the luscious-looking empty-calorie dessert in a pop culture meal, back in the day. The fame! The fashions! The men! The jewels! The scandals!
They were always entertaining, dahling! Zsa Zsa's cop-slapping trial in Beverly Hills in 1989 was the last story I covered before going on maternity leave. Shit, what a scene! It was hard, pressure-filled, draining as hell, hilarious as hell, gossipy as hell, sometimes simply ridiculous, other times surreal! I must have "dined out" on that story for years afterwards. It really surprised me. It was the headline story of the month! ALL the rage, the caviar and Crepes Suzette of the late night comedy show monologues, and all anybody was talking about.
So much else was happening in the country and the world, and all our member stations wanted was more Zsa Zsa tape. Couldn't get enough. The assignment desk in DC kept telling me that stations across the country would be calling all day, every day, for refeeds. Everybody went nuts for weeks! LOVED it! Every time she opened her mouth, she made news with outrageous statement after outrageous statement, up to the point where the judge finally imposed a gag order on her. But as a reporter, you didn't dare risk missing something. You'd hear about it if you did! You made sure you got to the story early, stayed through lunch, stayed after the day was over because you had to be sure you were there as she exited court because she was always good for another crazy quote. Kinda reminds me of this year's campaign coverage. She was like a female trump! She was THE shiny-object-du-jour throughout that late summer.
Ah, Zsa Zsa - you will be missed, You sure did show everybody a good time!

(3,251 posts)The women were famously known to hide their true ages. The grave markers of Eva, Magda, and mother Jolie have only the dates of their deaths, not of their births. Presumably Zsa Zsa's marker will be similarly marked.
