White House ices out CNN

Source: Politico

The White House has refused to send its spokespeople or surrogates onto CNN shows, effectively icing out the network from on-air administration voices.

“We’re sending surrogates to places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda,” said a White House official, acknowledging that CNN is not such a place, but adding that the ban is not permanent.

A CNN reporter, speaking on background, was more blunt: The White House is trying to punish the network and force down its ratings.

“They’re trying to cull CNN from the herd,” the reporter said.

The thinned skinned one is pouting because CNN is not simply letting him recite his talking points uninterrupted.

They can send reporters out to do real, investigative stories and stand on principal.

It doesn't make since that the "A-List" reporters spend their days in a briefing room like trained seals. Surely we can get a few pool reporters to cover whatever the release is.

CNN can now cash in on being the stand up take no BS cable news station.

Imagine the ads, especially ones that show Trump mouthing off about them.

MSNBC seems to be loading down their schedule with more and more right-wing guests. Unless the host totally eviscerates them and leaves them for dead, I don't want to hear them.

It won't be outright. He and Bannon are not that stupid. But they will suppress and tame the media by doing things like this. I am not a gambler but I will bet that the attempt to starve out CNN will work and CNN will suddenly start reporting more positively on Trump and company.

Martin Savage was the reporter

http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/01/31/trump-voters-react-travel-ban-savidge-dnt.cnn/video/playlists/trump-travel-ban/

Interviewed several "trump voters" who talked about supporting travel ban. Googled the "trump voters" who were made to look like sally and john doe blue collar trump voter and introduced only as supporter from Atlanta. I googled some of them and look what I found - so misrepresentative of segment

Bob Gray - http://patch.com/georgia/johnscreek/johns-creek-council-member-run-congress - Running for Price's seat in Congress. (No disclosure of this)

Kristina Twitty - Kristina Twitty, Director of Operations and Lobbyist for Georgia Life Alliance Committee. http://georgialifealliance.com/category/press-release/page/2/ - was tweeting about CNN appearance and promoting Bob Gray

I did not get to look at others but CNN should have disclosed that these two were political people.

Jay Lin - On the City Council in a suburb of Atlanta. http://www.nripulse.com/johns-creek-run-offs-jay-lin-wins-work-continues-says-nazeera-dawood/

Lenny Zaprowski - http://www.johnscreekga.gov/Residents/City-Council/Post-1-Lenny-Zaprowski (if you look at the picture at the top of this website, you can actually see a few of the people being interviewed on CNN all standing together in a picture showing the Johns Creek City Council members. Johns Creek is a suburb in Atlanta)

Michael Fitzgerald - Chairman, Ga. GOP 6th Congressional District. https://www.facebook.com/michael.fitzgerald.75?lst=662090427%3A1842032944%3A1485950778

Maureen Giannone - "I jumped on board the Trump Train in Nov 2015 and although there were some derailments - they were equally matched with an incredible amount of enthusiasm. I fell into office manager roll and volunteered at all the rally's held in GA . Due to my dedication to Georgia Trump Team both during the primary and General election I was placed on list to receive Inauguration tickets to Concert, Ceremony, Parade and Ball. " https://www.facebook.com/maureen.c.giannone

I find it VERY deceptive that they were passing these people off as just your average Trump voters.

To "promote our (Trump) agenda". Yes, that standard is in place for countries such as Russia but it has no place in a democratically elected nation such as ours. There is a reason I never watch Fox News and that is because they broadcast fake news. No news is better than fake news, as I see it. Stand your ground CNN.
