Poll: 1-in-4 voters believe Trump's vote-fraud claims

Source: Politico

By JAKE SHERMAN 02/01/17 06:33 AM EST

One in four voters believe President Donald Trump's unsupported claim that millions of votes were illegally cast in the 2016 election, but more people believe that Trump benefited from any electoral malfeasance instead of Hillary Clinton.

A new POLITICO/Morning Consult survey showed that 25 percent of registered voters say they agree with Trump that millions of people improperly cast ballots last November. But if the election was subject to voter fraud, 35 percent say it's more likely any improper votes benefited Trump, and 30 percent say they benefited Clinton.

In the opening days of the Trump administration, the White House has signaled that it would open an investigation into voter fraud, even though there is scant evidence of widespread issues with the nation's electoral system.

Overall, the new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll — which was conducted Jan. 26 through Jan. 28 among 1,991 voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent — paints a mixed picture for the new president.

of the bell curve.

And it is of voters. So, roughly 1/4 of the people who voted, which was about half of those who were eligible and half of those who voted for DumpsterFire, believe this.

Like I said, slow end of the curve.

They didn't come to that conclusion on their own. Someone had to tell them repeatedly that this misinformation was somehow fact.

And wouldn't it be nice if democrats could count on 25% of the voting demographic to support their causes NO MATTER WHAT and NO MATTER HOW KOOKY?

Just mind blowing how uninformed the electorate is. Oh wait, look at the idiot they elected.

I'm surprised that number isn't actually higher. It also means a substantial number of the degenerate's voters don't believe it.

.... the people from "The Minnow" who were stuck on Gilligan's Island too.

Trump's base is crazy, stupid, and or on meth. Russia, Fox News, and certain
social media outlets feed into their fantasy world.

I've seen consistency through the years that there is a floor of about 25%-30% far right wingers who will never move.
They are rock solid in the crazy. Another 15% - 20% or so are movable with some reason and logic and self interest applied.

What is wrong with our educational system that turns out so many ignorant no-nothing yahoos? It's not so much that conservatives don't have an ideological argument which can be considered and debated like in the Buckley days. The right is just a tribe of lunatic haters who believe in nothing.
