161,000 Florida voters failed to vote for president
Source: Tampa Bay Times
TALLAHASSEE The number of Florida voters who failed to cast a valid ballot for president spiked during the 2016 election, in what appears to have been a significant protest over their choices.
State officials released a report this week showing more than 161,000 of the electorate did not cast a valid vote for president in November. The rate of invalid votes for president in 2016 was more than double the rate it was in 2012 and 2008.
This number includes those who wrote an invalid name on the ballot, like Mickey Mouse, or left the ballot blank. It also includes those who voted for more than one candidate.
Republican Donald Trump won Florida and its 29 electoral votes by defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton by nearly 113,000 votes.

POTUS in 2016.
It was rigged and it was a coup.

(14,274 posts)It's not like we had any suspicions or evidence of interference in the elections. Those intelligence guys were lying about everything and Donald won by 3,000,000 votes.
C'mon.... I know you want to believe in the spoiler, but I don't buy that shit for a minute.

(14,274 posts)He isn't suggesting that African Americans didn't actually vote for President. His last sentence makes it clear that the suspicion is that this is a bullshit statistic. Most likely provided by Crosscheck and Florida Republicans.

I seriously doubt that there were many "protest" non-votes by leaving the Prez spot unmarked or writing in whatever.
The meme I see here that it was Bernie Bro's which caused Hills to lose is ridiculous as well.
We have a real problem with our election process and little power to fix it right now. We're going to have to copy the GOP/tea party and start from scratch by running in state and local elections. There, at least, we have more power to observe and correct.
Our protest movement is far larger than their astro turfed garden party.

(9,111 posts)already showing a preference, then the voter made a choice, et voila, too many preferences recorded.
The state and local jurisdictions are an important place to re establish our non astroturfed, actual numerical supremacy, you're right.
Turn out is important, reducing ineffective top weighted hierarchical organizing attempts is important, making sure the people who did turn out get to vote and have it duly recorded is important.
