Two conservative House members issued a shot across the bow against any attempts to shrink the scope of Republicans' repeal of the Affordable Care Act, in a statement that "strongly" encouraged that the coming legislation to dismantle the law go at least as far as a 2015 Obamacare repeal bill.

That 2015 bill passed Congress but was vetoed by President Obama in 2016.

"Theres no reason we should put anything less on President Trumps desk than we put on President Obamas now that we know it will be signed into law," the statement, issued by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) Thursday, said. "We strongly encourage that this bill be brought to the floor for consideration as soon as possible so we can begin undoing this law that is hurting American families.

Republicans' initial desire to repeal Obamacare almost immediately after President Trump took office has been [link:http://talkingpointsmemo.com/fivepoints/fights-over-obamacare-repealbogged down] by intra-GOP fights over what the repeal legislation would look. There have been disagreements over the timeframe that a repeal would take place, whether the [link:http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/reapublicans-dilemma-on-obamacare-do-we-repeal-the-taxestaxes should be dismantled] right away and whether there should be some [link:http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/some-republicans-fear-repealing-obamacare-without-a-replacementACA replacement elements] ready when repeal is passed. Some Republicans, [link:http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/key-gop-chair-unveils-most-detailed-plan-yet-to-repeal-and-replace-o-careespecially on the Senate side], have floated an approach that would "repair" Obamacare before fully repealing it.

I'm sick of politicians of any party that refuse to stand on their own honest convictions. This would result in terrible human suffering but we are never going cure ourselves of the national cancer that is the Republican Party until Americans see with their own eyes what this ideology will lead to.

Ryan and McConnell into a corner. Both of knew that they could appease their base by offering up these wide ranging repeals of ACA knowing full well that President Obama would veto them and there was not enough support to override that veto.

Well guys, time to put your money where your mouth is. You own it now.

a law that been in place several years? Or for that matter anything else they're trying to do? I think it's time that at least we progressives start to call "those people" what they are: radical reactionaries. Conservatives, my a$$.
