Senate panel to investigate Russian election interference
Source: USA Today
President Trump may want to "move on" from Russia's attempted interference in last fall's presidential election, but two senators announced Thursday that they are launching a bipartisan investigation of Russia's efforts to influence the U.S. election and democratic elections in other nations.
Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., said the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, which they lead, will hold both closed-door and public discussions as they look into Russia's meddling.
"Our goal is simple to the fullest extent possible we want to shine a light on Russian activities to undermine democracy," the two senators said in a joint statement. "Our efforts will be guided by the belief that we have an obligation to follow the facts wherever they may lead."
The U.S. intelligence community last year concluded that Russia tried to interfere in America's election in order to help Trump and hurt Democrat Hillary Clinton. They said there was no evidence that Russia's efforts affected the actual vote count. Russian hackers stole emails from both the Democratic National Committee and Clinton's campaign during the election. Democrats were embarrassed during the election season by internal emails that were posted by WikiLeaks.

There's a rat in mi kitchen what am I gonna go?
I'm gonna fix that rat thats what I'm gonna do,
I'm gonna fix that rat.
When you open your mouth you don't talk, you shout
And you give every body the blame,
But when they catch you up,
They will shut you up
And you got no one to blame
When you out on the street,
You practice lies and deceipt
And you scandalize my name
But when I catch you up
I'm gonna pull you up
I'm gonna check-out inside your brain
When yo deh pon the scene,
You make everyone scream
Because they know your so unjust
But when they catch you up
They will kick you up
Because you someone they cannot trust
You invade my space
Make me feel disgraced
And you just don't give a damn
If I had my way
If I had my say
I'd like to see you hang

(21,984 posts)"The Next Attack
The Russian ability to launch an attack with a weapon of Mass Disruption has yet to occur, but could come at a time of Russias choosing. Should the Kremlin game out that the time is right to politically and economically destabilize America and finally topple it from being the shining city on the capitalist hill to collapsing under its own ignorance and faith in a parlor tricking, reality show con man, then a massive hack on election day is well within its capability. The Lucky-7 Information Warfare Management Cell doesnt need to get into the electronic voting machines. The Russian IWMC and its Lucky-7 operations team just needs to change just one column of electoral tallies in one state just long enough to make the tens of millions of Trump voters finally believe that the election was being stolen by Hillary Clinton. No matter what the evidence, no matter who will ask for calm, they wont believe anything other than treachery because Donald Trump has convinced a third of the American electorate that the entire American electoral system has always been corrupt. The greatest danger now is that any outcome other than the election of Donald Trump will not be accepted and demands for a new election and rejection of the result will cripple the nation in ways not seen since 1860 secession. It could lead some states to suggest just that should the outcome be not to their liking. At that point the prospect of a second American civil war is not only viable, but likely."
Except the treachery was actually committed against Hillary. And the election was stolen for Trump.
