Vanity Fair, The New Yorker Will Not Participate in WH Correspondents' Dinner Parties

Source: Mediaite

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is still on for this year, but two of its biggest participants are backing out of the festivities in the wake of the Donald Trump Presidency.

In recent days, there was some mystery as to whether “Nerd Prom” would happen at all, given the Trump Administration’s rough relationship with the media. The dinner is set to take place after all, but The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, who host two of the weekend’s biggest events, will not be taking part.

“We’ve taken a break from the dinner in the past,” said Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter. When the New York Times asked if there was any particular reason for his decision, Carter cited “Trump” and plans to go on a weekend fishing trip.

The New Yorker is also known for its weekend kickoff parties, which are usually recognized as star-studded events. According to their spokeswoman, they have decided to scrap their plans for this year as well.

5. Send messages to media!

Send messages or call CNN, NYT, Washington Post, etc., encouraging them to back out of the dinner. They would certainly get more respect for taking a stand against a lying administration and possibly even gain subscribers for refusing to support the people who promote fairly constant fake news.

Howard Stern said in an interview that, "Trump wants to be loved."

If the big players show up at Sam Bee's event and they ditch Trump it will be YUGE.

It will drive him cuckoo crazy.

Send those emails, letters, make those phone calls. Urge the big papers to say, "You're fired!" and refuse to play with the Trumplethinskin.

subscribe). I hope they're starting a trend! Trump would either take the occasion to insult them unmercifully, or pretend to suck up while throwing in some obvious insults. There definitely should NOT be a White House Correspondents' Dinner this year. OTOH, Samantha Bee is hosting her own version the same night. The White House press should show up there instead.

I'm sure they were at the idiot son's and laughed and laughed when he had the disgusting video of him joking about looking for WMDs, hilarity ensued with all of them...BARF.

This is at least a start.

He will LOSE IT if all the media people back out. He is hoping to be the star of the reality show at the dinner.

I'd love for trump to be staring out at a sparsely-occupied dining room, that night.

I don't see why any legitimate news organization would give him the satisfaction of attending.

Btw, any guesses as to who might be the entertainer this year? I'm betting on Dennis Miller.
