Justice Dept. appeals Seattle judge's ruling suspending travel ban

Source: MSN/Associated Press

WASHINGTON - The Justice Department is asking a federal appeals court to set aside a judge's order that temporarily blocked the Trump administration's travel ban.

The federal government's request for an emergency stay was filed Saturday night with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The filing asks the court to lift an order from a day earlier from a judge in Washington state.

The ruling from U.S. District Judge James Robart temporarily halted a Trump administration executive order that suspended America's refugee program and halted immigration to the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority countries.

President Donald Trump has lashed out at Robart on Twitter, calling him a "so-called judge."

What is the emergency? Trump needs to stop Muslim immigrants from countries from countries with no history of a terrorist attack on the U.S.? Or, perhaps, Trump just needs to satisfy his racist base ASAP.

It seemed like a given that he'd order Homeland Security to ignore any such rulings.

I guess any questions about how he views the responsibility of the Department of Justice have now been answered.

Sad.

so that when we're attacked again, he can blame the left and the protestors and the courts for not getting behind him to stop "terror".

I'm starting to think the point of the "Muslim ban" isn't to ban Muslims. It's to intentionally stir up opposition to Trump/Bannon so they can justify cracking down on civil liberties and the courts the first chance they get.

I agree with you 100 percent. That's exactly what he'll do. Blame the liberals. What else is new. He blames us for everything. Hopefully Americans know better.

or else they wouldn't try to go around Judge Robart's restraining order this way.

Well, I got three words for them:
