GOP Senator: We Don't Have 'So-Called Judges' Or 'So-Called Presidents'

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published FEBRUARY 5, 2017, 10:29 AM EDT

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) said on Sunday that he doesn't understand President Donald Trump's attack lambasting a "so-called" judge who blocked his executive order on immigration, noting: "We don’t have so-called presidents."

"I’ll be honest, I don’t understand language like that. We don’t have so-called judges. We don’t have so-called senators. We don’t have so-called presidents," Sasse told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week."

"We have people from three different branches of government who take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and it's important that we do better civics education for our kids," Sasse added. "So we don't have any so-called judges. We have real judges."

On Friday, U.S. District Judge James Robart blocked Trump's executive order nationwide.

I know he's been talking tough on Trump, so why not do the right thing and vote "No" on DeVos. Otherwise, he's just trying to have it both ways. Tired of this bullshit.

Yes, Sasse, vote no on DeVos. It'll be a step towards insuring kids have civics classes. Any classes.

emoluments clause, gives aid and comfort to enemies, Putin, and wastes no time denigrating other co-equal members of our government as in the judicial system. So I will continue to say he is our SO-CALLed pResident. He is breaking the law. And he lies so much that we will not be of a mind to believe him if he ever does tell the truth. Some day he won't even allow the Rethugs to contradict him. They are willingly giving up their own power, and for what I can not even imagine what they would be gaining.
