Federal judge calls into question 'legitimacy' of Donald Trumps presidency

Source: RawStory

U.S. District Judge Dan Polster called into question the “legitimacy” of Donald Trump’s presidency this week after the president suggested that a federal judge who ruled against him was illegitimate.

Speaking to Cleveland’s Anti-Defamation League on Wednesday night, Polster expressed disappointment in the president’s tweet that attacked U.S. District Court Judge James Robart as a “so-called judge” for blocking a ban on travel from seven majority-Muslim countries.

“This is serious business, because you start calling into question the legitimacy of someone, that undermines the whole system, all right?” Polster told the audience, according to Cleveland.com.

“I think to say it publicly, that’s his right,” he added. “But it calls into question, and some might even say forfeits, his or her own legitimacy. So I’ll leave it at that. It’s an important question, but that’s how I feel.” Polster noted that the country’s founders had set up a system of check and balances because “they were fearful of a president who might want to be a king or dictator.”

to remove our wannabe dictator because 52% of Congress has no interest
in being a check or balance. They are complicit enablers.
If the courts don't do it by 2018, the voters will do it when both the
House and Senate have a Democratic majority.

was the Citizens United ruling, and the long trend toward giving corporations the same rights as people.

That scares me more than Trump calling a particular judge a particular name.

The concept of a corporation was concocted long ago by the rich merchant class in cahoots with the royals, in order to keep their ill-gotten gains, while pushing the cleanup of their carnage onto the commons. It's as simple as that. And it's the source of most, if not all, the evils in the world right now.

Let's "incorporate" this conceptual "entity" so it gets the blame, and not us. Neat trick.

I hope Scalia is rotting in the hell he believed in.

Ironic, looking back, that I used to think Rehnquist was about as bad as things could get. These days there's not even an effort to hide disgracefully gross partisanship and corporatist conflicts of interest.

A candidate with the baggage, the lies, the stupid campaigning, the idiotic statements, the obvious ignorance, the traitorous leanings, the threatening behavior toward women, of a Landslide Donald, that candidate does not get elected in a fair election in the United States, and everybody knows it. The fact that the House Committee on Administration voted (as they were told to do) to kill the federal election watchdog commission proves beyond a doubt that we won't be seeing any fair, legitimate elections any time soon. It's going to take some prolonged strikes and other things that I can't bring myself to spell out.
