'GO BACK! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!': Protesters Block Betsy DeVos From Entering DC School

Source: Mediaite

Betsy DeVos‘ first week as the Secretary of Education is off to a rough start.

Just moments ago, DeVos was caught on camera by ABC trying to enter a local public school in our nation’s capital before being being entrance by angry protestors.

“GO BACK!” one of the men can be clearly heard saying. “SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!” the small vociferous crowd continued. Another angry patron outside the school says, “She does not represent anything that they stand for!”

“Keep giving money to Senate and buying your way into the position,” another angrily adds. “You should be so proud of yourself!” the small crowd mocked in defiance of DeVos.

For example, federal judges are entitled to protection by the marshall's service. After Trump's latest tweets about the various judges, they were assigned more protection by the marshall's service.

Personally, I despise DeVos. I got to see her rape and pillage in West Michigan years ago.

can pay for their own security. It is insult to injury to allow some of these people buy their way into a cabinet position and then possibly expect the peons to pay for their security as they scheme to undermine the very peons.

When people are allowed to buy themselves a job based upon their wealth as opposed to competency then I have a problem with having my tax dollars pay for their security. How far are you willing to go to allow the 1% to fleece the masses? Trump has created an Executive Branch that is filled with nothing more than a bunch of grifters who will loot and pillage this country until there is nothing left on the carcass. They, and the Republican controlled Congress want an ignorent country that they can scare into giving up their Civil and Constitutional Rights.

I also don't think that the tax payers should have to pay the millions of extra dollars to protect Melania and Baron Trump because they choose to stay in NYC. They can get all the security they need at the WH. If they choose elsewhere then Trump should have to pay for the cost of their security. They do not have to live in NYC, they choose to.

If you have no problem with paying for security for the over inflated, incompetent cabinet you better be ready to find yourself paying for a whole lot of things that you won't want to but won't have any choice. He will never ask Corporations or the 1% to pay their fair share when he can force it on the backs of the masses.

D.C. Parents Are Protesting Betsy DeVos At School Visit In Southwest

by Rachel Sadon in News on Feb 10, 2017 10:50 am

Though she has never taught at, attended, or sent her children to a public school, newly instated Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is visiting a D.C. middle school this morning as one of her first public acts on the job. A crowd of parents and educators are there to tell her that they love our public schools, and activists came out to show resistance.

How cool! It's neat when it occurs so close to home. Kinda makes you feel like you're a part of it. I went to a "huddle" last night - groups that are gathering on the heels of the Women's March. I've been to several of these small and growing collectives. You ask if anybody went to the LA March and inevitably, hands zoom up all over the room.

- Getting a cushy job you're not remotely qualified for? - $7.3 Million in Campaign contributions to ReTrumplicans

- Gaining Access to a Public School? - You can't afford it.

Betsy is going to take all of her anger and embarrassment out on the schools. She probably muttered to herself, as they drove away from those protesters, something along the lines of, "I can't wait to shut those bastards down. They don't know who they're messing with."

Like it or not, DeVos is now the Education Sec. I don't understand how blocking her from entering a public school is constructive towards having her support public education.

Seems like you would instead want to welcome her and show her first hand what a great job these schools are doing considering the resources.

It seems to me that the problem with Charter schools is they take money away from public schools and there will always be kids left behind because there never will be enough charter schools to handle all the students

First, is anything I said true? And are there other reasons that charter schools are bad? I have looked it up and found that some of them seem really good in that they gear themselves to different areas of interest such as the arts.

Also do parents have to pay to get their kids into charter schools?
