(9,808 posts)My bet is off target and premature, to take the analogy to its unhappy ending.
More seriously, I am slightly worried about this, because Lil Kim has become accustomed to being the craziest authoritarian on the world stage, and has now been upstaged. Attention is a drug, and he's been forcibly shoved into withdrawal. That's what pushes the more dangerous end of Cluster B into extreme acting out, like family annihilation and spree killing. And if Lil Kim decides he's going to go out as the biggest asshole ever, it's really not that hard -- launch whatever shit they have at SK (doesn't matter what, doesn't matter if it hits target, conventional is fine) and march everyone in internment across the DMZ to take care of those pesky land mines. Not that such an invasion would work as a means of NK taking over SK, but it would cause chaos, would make China/Russia/US tensions far worse and more complicated, and it would be final proof that he's loved, worshipped, obeyed, and feared.

Like the undersized bratty kid waiting until teacher comes out to the playground before taunting the bully.
speculatively,

(7 posts)Did anyone see the statement by the President and the PM of Japan? It was odd. The PM said a bunch of things and then Trump said the US agrees and backs them up 100% and it was over. About 1 minute.
