Trump impeachment petition nears one million signatures

Source: International Business Times

13 FEB 2017 AT 12:33 ET

Millions of Americans have responded to the new White House by joining "the resistance": an online and in-person community organizing protests and demonstrations across the country, that’s now leading the call to impeach the 45th president of the United States. President Donald Trump's first three weeks in office brought along a slew of executive orders, from deregulating America’s financial markets, to restricting travel from seven Muslim-majority nations and repealing former President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare initiative, the Affordable Care Act.

The petition demanding the federal government begin Trump’s impeachment process for his potential international conflicts of interest reached over 850,000 signatures by Monday morning. The campaign, titled Impeach Trump Now, was created by Former 2016 Democratic presidential candidate and Harvard Law professor Lawrence Lessig, along with Harvard professor Tamara Piety, after Trump failed to step away from his businesses after his inauguration to instead “profit from the presidency at public expense,” according to a statement published on ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org.

"As of January 20, 2017, President Trump’s refusal to divest from his business interests has placed him in direct violation of the US Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause and on a collision course with the Constitution’s Domestic Emoluments Clause and with the federal STOCK Act," the impeachment petition site states. "The President must be held accountable under the law, through the impeachment process, for these serious violations and for this unprecedented level of corruption of the Oval Office."

Lately, I believe that if Pence became the Ipotus (Illegitimate President of the U.S.); that he would be even more illegitimate and irrelevant that drumph. Any power left it the presidency would be subsumed into the Drumph scandals.
Pence, as the first Max Headroom president, would be more mocked, more ridiculed, and more ignored than any president in history.

So, I think we should give Max a try.

7. If trump has committed impeachable offenses, he needs to be held accountable. As for your premise

that Pence would be worse, they are equally bad. The people trump has appointed speak volumes just how dangerous trump is on so many fronts.

In addition, the process of impeachment has the possibility of delaying damage that the republicans have mapped out, and delay is a good thing in this case.

9. At this point, it's reasonable to question how deep Pence is in all this too

How much has he known and when?

Flynn is just the tip of the iceburg- a large chunk of this administration is being implicated in various behaviors that at a MINIMUM are a threat to national security either through malfeasance or gross incompetence. If Pence IS innocent of any wrongdoing as he claims, then he is an even bigger idiot than 45 and shouldn't become 46 because he sat there and fucking let it happen just so he could go along for the ride.

Do you really think they would want him to go, when he will be their puppet for their agenda? I don't think the Republicans will do a damn thing, against their President. Not a damn thing. Why? Because he is their Distraction. Everyone will be looking at Trump while the Republicans GUT the entire Governmental system.

You are right up to the point where he will go so far off the reservation they will be FORCED to act. Look at the way people are protesting NOW.

kind of Outrage, and the Republicans will back him in all that he does. We have already heard from Stephen Miller about how HIS PRESIDENT IS UNQUESTIONABLE AND above the LAW.
