Russian lawmakers cry foul over resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn

Source: ABC News

Russian lawmakers have been reacting with outrage to the resignation of President Donald Trump’s national security adviser Michael Flynn, calling it the result of American paranoia towards Moscow and a campaign by Trump’s opponents to damage relations between Russia and the United States.

Flynn resigned on Monday after it emerged that he misled White House officials about his discussions with Russia’s ambassador to Washington ahead of Trump’s inauguration.

In his resignation letter, Flynn said he had “inadvertently” briefed Vice President Mike Pence and others with “incomplete information” on calls with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak. Flynn came under fire for discussing U.S. sanctions on Russia with the ambassador back in December.

The Kremlin has confirmed the calls but denied the sanctions were mentioned.

If the Russkies were actually negotiating with the Trump campaign to hold back retaliation for Obama's action against Russkie diplomats in return for a lowering of sanctions, then they already kicked you in the ass.

That's one reason it is surprising that Flynn didn't expect to get caught. suggests that he was ordered to have the conversation by Trump himself. This could very well lead to a smoking gun. As the fall guy, Flynn will have no reason not to spill the beans.

they are also using the republican playbook and calling MSM fake news....Orwellian reaction.. I don't remember what else I heard on NPR but it was pretty surreal hearing Russia take such an interest in US politics.

And those quotes "Inadvertently" and "incomplete information" it's like the old Bush Whitehouse "want to spend more time with my family" cop out.

But no mention of his master, #45. Did he not brief #45 also? So I guess that means #45 already knew, yes?

The best pick for the position of National Security adviser would be retired Army Col. Andrew Bacevich. He lost a son to the Iraq war and has written extensively on the value of diplomacy and the risks and failures of military intervention.

Andrew J. Bacevich is Professor of International Relations and History at Boston University. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, he received his PhD in American Diplomatic History from Princeton University. Before joining the faculty of Boston University, he taught at West Point and Johns Hopkins.

You know better than that. If you were walking down the street looking for Muslims to expel, and a meteor hit you, that would be inadvertent, as it was 100% beyond your knowledge and ability to avoid being hit.

What you did was lie to VP Pence.
