McConnell Says It's 'Highly Likely' Senate Intel Committee Will Probe Flynn

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published FEBRUARY 14, 2017, 3:09 PM EDT

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on Tuesday that it is "highly likely" that the Senate Intelligence Committee will investigate former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's call with a Russian ambassador.

"The Intelligence Committee is already looking at Russian involvement in our election. Sen. Blunt has indicated that it's highly likely they'd want to take a look at this episode as well," McConnell told reporters.

Flynn resigned late Monday, days after reports revealed that he discussed sanctions with Russia's ambassador to the United States. This contradicted members of Trump's administration, including Vice President Mike Pence, who previously denied that Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak spoke about sanctions.

McConnell said Tuesday that the Senate Intelligence Committee can "look at whatever they choose to."

Well, I guess it is good, given how repulsive he is, that his wife doesn't have to worry that he might kiss her for V Day.

I was noticing when Sen Corker, what a name, was speaking, that he didn't have lips. Paul Ryan too has those thin lips. I think there is an association with not speaking, hiding behind lies. The villains in old movies always had thin lips.

He knows further investigation of the Russian interference in the election will have to happen too.

Anyone think Flynn will flip on Trump and open Pandora's Box.
