Report: Defense Department Considering Sending Conventional Ground Troops Into Syria

Source: Slate

FEB. 15 2017 4:45 PM

By Osita Nwanevu

CNN reported Wednesday afternoon that the Defense Department is, for the first time, considering making a proposal to send conventional American combat troops into northern Syria to fight ISIS. The network's Barbara Starr said that the Pentagon’s considerations were prompted by President Trump’s demand for a plan to defeat ISIS by the end of February. The proposal has not yet been sent to Trump.

As on all issues, Trump has made conflicting statements on how he would like to tackle ISIS in Syria. In March 2016, he said during a debate that he would listen to the recommendations of "the generals" who he said had recommended 20,000 to 30,000 American troops on the ground. In July of the same year, though, he said he'd send "very few" troops into the fight. The U.S. has around 500 troops, tasked largely with assisting the Syrian opposition, in the country as of December.

Their ranks will grow x10. Syrian militias on our side will switch to being our enemies. In the end, Russia and Syria benefit while we pay the price.

This just BS, and this sexual commander in chief is going to listen to his "generals" really------------look at how well this team did in the National Security Agency and in other positions of crimes being committed by this team, this right wing fascist congress and senate

I thought our Dear Leader had a "secret plan" that he was going to use to defeat ISIS? Is it so secret that he doesn't even know what it is? So very perplexing....

I read an article where Trump is sending generals to Russia to talk with Russian generals. If they come back with a plan of cooperation with Russia to fight ISIS and they have some success, well then the only thing left to do is remove the sanctions and the Drill Baby Drill, and oh Donald can forget about all of that money he owes the Russian mob.
I'm just guessing on this and what I am guessing depends on what Russia does.

Also, speaking of money, Russia helped Assad out because there are 2 proposed gas pipelines that need to go through Syria and Russia opposed the Qatar pipeline and favored the Iranian pipeline. We, the US, have been arming al-Qaeda mainly and possibly ISIS as long as they fought to remove Assad because we favor the Qatar pipeline. Will Russia switch and cut a deal with Qatar and turn on Assad just to get sanctions removed?

Russia is the key player in all of this.

are getting desperate and WILL start creating false flag attacks and diversions such as this. Once our troops go into harms way as an intended distraction (remember the WWII false flag attack by poles on some german troops pre-WWII)all types of ugliness will start. We are in such deep shit, luckily we still have a paddle.
