Senate hearings for Supreme Court pick to begin March 20

WASHINGTON (AP) The Senate Judiciary Committee will begin confirmation hearings for President Donald Trumps Supreme Court pick Neil Gorsuch on March 20.
Thats the word from Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, who made the announcement Thursday after consulting with the panels top Democrat, Dianne Feinstein.
Grassley says he expects the hearings to last three to four days. The first day will have opening statements by committee members and the federal judge tapped for the high court vacancy.
Questioning of Gorsuch will begin March 21.

(5,499 posts)Is that typical? That amount of time from nomination to hearing. When does the SC stop hearing cases for the term? Of course, he will be filibustered so it doesn't really matter. And if he is not filibustered, then we are done for. Might as well put on our gray sweat pants and start shopping at walmart....

I mean, he's only got 3 years and 11 months left. The pick should be America's choice...
