The CEO of Boeing listened in on a phone call between President Trump and the Air Force general in charge of the Lockheed Martin F-35 jet program, Bloomberg
reported Thursday.
Citing two unnamed people familiar with the calls, Bloomberg reported that Trump was in a meeting with Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg when he made the latter of two surprise, unusual calls to Lieutenant General Chris Bogdan.
Bogdan is the program executive officer for the Department of Defense agency responsible for purchasing F-35 aircraft for the Navy, Air Force, Marines and some U.S. allies. Trump has frequently been critical of the programs cost.
Trumps first call with Bogdan was on Jan. 9, Bloomberg reported. The second, on Jan. 17, took place in front of an apparently surprised Muilenburg, according to Bloombergs sources.

Trump Let Rival CEO Listen In On Call
February 16, 2017By Taegan Goddard
Days before taking office, President-elect Donald Trump made two surprise calls to the Air Force general managing the Pentagons largest weapons program, the Lockheed Martin Corp. F-35 jet. Listening in on one of those calls was Dennis Muilenburg the CEO of Lockheeds chief rival, Boeing, [link:https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-02-16/trump-s-f-35-calls-came-with-a-surprise-rival-ceo-was-listeningBloomberg reports].
Trump, who has repeatedly criticized the $379 billion F-35 program as out of control, made the highly unusual calls to Lieutenant General Chris Bogdan on Jan. 9 and Jan. 17 Muilenburg, whose company makes a fighter jet Trump has suggested might be an alternative to the F-35, was in the president-elects New York office for a meeting during the second call. He appeared caught off-guard but was able to listen in on the call, according to the people, who asked to remain anonymous discussing sensitive information. One of the people said the call was on speakerphone.

(3,847 posts)crimes have to pile up before independent investigations begin? How many more crimes must be committed before this American terrorist is thrown the fuck out of OUR house. FUCK!!
I literally yelled out - "How many more 'high crimes and misdemeanors' need to happen before something is done?" - before I saw your post.

(8,685 posts)It's actively trying to use an office he didn't have yet to manipulate existing policy.
Also, it likely violated some or all of the following:
* likely violated SEC rules
*federal trade laws
*classified information may have been discussed. Classified information is always "need to know" and the Boeing executive had no "need" to know.
There are a host of possible violations that make such an event a very big deal.
This is nuts.
Those NSA spy tools sure are coming in handy right about now. They've discovered a domestic threat. Good work.
Edit: though Bogdan could have just written the memo to cover his ass knowing the illegality of what was going down.
