White House Denies Trump Will Call Up National Guard for Immigrant Roundup

Source: Bloomberg

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer denied a report by the Associated Press that President Donald Trump was considering using the National Guard to round up undocumented immigrants.

"That is 100 percent not true. It is false," Spicer told reporters aboard Air Force One, calling the APs report that Trump may call up as many as 100,000 troops "irresponsible."

Spicer said he had no information about the origin of the report.

IMO, this was a setup to discredit the media and panic our Latino population, folks.

The National Defense Authorization Act 2008 Pub.L. 110-181
Repeals provisions in section 1076 in Pub.L. 109-364 but still enables the President to call up the National Guard of the United States for active federal military service during Congressionally sanctioned national emergency or war. Places the National Guard Bureau directly under the Department of Defense as a joint activity.

The magic words, being "Congressionally sanctioned national emergency"! If he can get Republicans, the majority, to sanction a "national emergency", control of the National Guard falls under the Defense Department!

Feb 2017
The memo is addressed to the then-acting heads of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. It would serve as guidance to implement the wide-ranging executive order on immigration and border security that President Donald Trump signed Jan. 25. Such memos are routinely issued to supplement executive orders.

Also dated Jan. 25, the draft memo says participating troops would be authorized "to perform the functions of an immigration officer in relation to the investigation, apprehension and detention of aliens in the United States." It describes how the troops would be activated under a revived state-federal partnership program, and states that personnel would be authorized to conduct searches and identify and arrest any unauthorized immigrants.

Those answers to the press questions are permanent record for our government. Such a contrast between the last president and this Republican slob.

I don't understand why Republicans with experience allow their president & his Admin. to fuck up everything so badly. Especially the criminals who attacked our democracy, why do Republicans with experience allow COVER UP for those crimes to continue?

I'm happy President Obama and family enjoy a well deserved rest. I wish sometimes soon he has a press conference and answers a few questions about his opinion about our governments current position. Like in his opinion, what's going on with transition progress, these CONSTANT attacks on free press media and the Russian crimes, who colluded with Republicans primary and Republicans from 2015s 'dinner in russia' by Flynn, Jill Stein and that list of generals someone fed to t(R)ump campaign.

Its time for President Obama to give our free press a presser, we need his opinion about todays WH.

The last goodbye

Trump weighs mobilizing Nat Guard for immigration roundups

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_TRUMP_NATIONAL_GUARD?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

By GARANCE BURKE

Associated Press

The Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up unauthorized immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border, according to a draft memo obtained by The Associated Press.

The 11-page document calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana........................

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the AP report was "100 percent not true" and "irresponsible." ''There is no effort at all to utilize the National Guard to round up unauthorized immigrants," he said.

Governors in the 11 states would have a choice whether to have their guard troops participate, according to the memo, written by U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, a retired four-star Marine general.

Remember when Hillary was dying, having people killed, involved in a pedophile ring using pizza terms as code words, etc.? You can't have it both ways - the genie is out of the bottle. These scam artists were ignored before, but now, being a hysteria-fueling sham artist is very profitable.
