Scott Brown under consideration for ambassador to New Zealand

Former US senator Scott Brown is being considered for nomination as President Trump’s ambassador to New Zealand, according to four sources familiar with the process.

Brown, who was considered for the veterans affairs Cabinet post, has told associates that he believes he will get the nod for Wellington, one told the Globe.

The White House press office referred questions to Brown, who did not respond to several requests for comment.

Sources noted that Brown receiving the post was likely not imminent, that he must undergo extensive vetting and earn Senate confirmation.
